Hey Guys

I came across a few quotes pertaining to literature and writing and drama that I liked, so I wanted to share them with y'all.

:) Some of these are from my playwriting book last year, so they might seem a little familiar.

Acting is all about honesty. If you can fake that, you've got it made.
-George Burns

I love acting. It is so much more real than life.
-Oscar Wilde (The Picture of Dorian Gray)

Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain - and most fools do.
-Dale Carnegie

Honest criticism is hard to take, particularly from a relative, a friend, an acquaintance, or a stranger.
-Franklin P Jones

That is the saving grace of humor, if you fail no one is laughing at you.
-A. Whitney Brown

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.
-Horace Walpole

Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you walk into an open sewer and die.
-Mel Brooks

We must believe in luck. For how else can we explain the success of those we don't like?
-Jean Cocteau

It is nobler to declare oneself wrong than to insist on being right - especially when one is right.
-Friedrich Nietzsche

The place where optimism most flourishes is the lunatic asylum.
-Havelock Ellis

There's a difference between a philosophy and a bumper sticker.
-Charles M. Schulz

Philosophy consists very largely of one philosopher arguing that all others are jackasses. He usually proves it, and I should add that he also usually proves that he is one himself.
-H.L. Mencken

A country can be judged by the quality of its proverbs.
-German Proverb

Don't live in a town where there are no doctors.
-Jewish Proverb (LOL!!!)

Rejoice not at thine enemy's fall - but don't rush to pick him up either.
-Jewish Proverb (Once again... LOL!!!!)

Anything worth dying for is certainly worth living for.
-Joseph Heller (Catch-22)

:) If you want to be scarred mentally, physically, emotionally, metaphorically, and metaphysically, I'd go with "Bridget's Sheets"
:iconcanaryinthemineshaft:
Also, is it possible to be scarred metaphysically? :lmao:

It's totally possible. Scarring with regards to the basic foundations and principles of existence. Gravitationally, or through time, or whatnot. Also, metaphysical scars usually come in crazy shapes like horseshoes and rainbows. And sometimes make your skin green.
:iconcanaryinthemineshaft:
:lmao: Well, my skin is still its regular pinkish-white, so I guess I'm all right!

YAY! Josh! Lovely to see you! It was actually just yesterday that I was like, "I wish Josh had deviantART." I guess I have telepathic powers of persuasion?
